He is advocating for the passage of additional aid to Ukraine.
President Joe Biden will meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House on Tuesday. Press Secretary Jean-Pierre stated, “The leaders will discuss Ukraine’s urgent needs and the vital importance of the United States’ continued support at this critical moment.”
President Zelensky is then scheduled to appear at a full Senate meeting on Tuesday as well. House Speaker Mike Johnson is scheduled to meet separately with the Ukrainian president.
Further aid to Ukraine has been held up in the Senate by those making it contingent on the implementation of stricter security policies at America’s southern border.
